TANZ DIE TOLERANZ is a participatory dance program (www.tanzdietoleranz.at) based at KULTURHAUS BROTFABRIK, realizing projects in the district "Favoriten" as well as other places in Vienna, Lower Austria, and internationally. The mission of TANZ DIE TOLERANZ is to allow each and every person access to and participation in art and culture regardless of talent, experience, age, gender, skin colour, religion, ethnicity, or social origins. As a medium, dance enables new possibilities for communication and a sense of belonging. The participation in all projects facilitated by TANZ DIE TOLERANZ are free of charge and accessible to people who do not have any prior knowledge or experience of dance.
Aufgaben vum Volontaire:
Proposed activities
The volunteers will be involved in supporting mainly TANZ DIE TOLERANZ projects and activities, but also other initiatives (art and craft workshops, repaircafé, concerts, children’s events). The volunteers are also encouraged to present their own ideas, which they might come up with when getting in touch with the residents. However, this is not compulsory.
National and International dance projects are planned at KULTURHAUS BROTFABRIK. The volunteers will be involved in supporting these programmes. The international working language is English, so the volunteers have the chance to be involved, in research activities, and the communication with the participants and partners. Nevertheless, the implementation of the local dance program in the neighbourhood requires profound German language skills. You should be motivated to learn German.

According to the interests of the volunteers in combination with already acquired abilities and skills there are several fields of action. The volunteers will find a big variety of tasks, which offer many possibilities to learn by doing. The fields of action are
•Supporting the team in planning of local dance projects
•Supporting the team in planning of international projects
•assistance at dance workshops and rehearsals
•marketing for disadvantaged groups (improving concepts, implementation, direct outreach work) photography and video documentation
•Administrative Support (Digitalisation of physical documents, Maintenance of Excel-sheets)
•Supporting the team in technical tasks during the preparations for performances
•Social Media
Gesichte Profil:
You should be interested in participatory dance and the topics of TANZ DIE TOLERANZ. You should also have strong motivation to support us with the photo and video documentation of our activities and be interested in the creative use of social media tools to support the visibility of our work. Potential volunteers should be open to meeting new people, engaging with strangers and building relationships with the participants of our dance programs and staff members. We expect the volunteer to have good communication skills, to be capable of working in a team, and to be open minded.
