Atelier Lávka – Media Lab

Atelier Lávka is part of Legato – center of leisure time in Kohoutovice district in Brno which exists since 1999. Both Lávka and Legato are part of Luzanky center. Lávka offers different types of leisure-time activities: programs for schools, clubs, competitions, summer camps for children and other events for public.

Atelier Lávka focuses on film, photo production, as well as editing and sound recording. Volunteer’s main task will be assisting to the pedagogue during the educational programs for schools, as well as during the film and animation workshops (clubs). The volunteer can offer the youngsters new activities (workshops, festivals etc.) or encourage and support them to organize their own events (e.g  jam sessions or exhibitions). Volunteer can offer activities to youngsters according to their abilities and interests (for example in the field of music or arts). English communication skills are needed.

Accommodation: 
Volunteers live in rented flats (not in the centre of the city), it can happen that two volunteers will share one room for a shorter period of time (a few months). There will be 4 volunteers in the flat with 4 bedrooms. There is no living room, only common space/eating area  in the kitchen. Distance to your working place from the flat can be around 30 minutes by public transport, even a bit more. Getting affordable accommodation in Brno is very difficult in recent years, so please be ready for described conditions of accommodation if you apply to our project. The advantage for you is that you will stay in quite a big city, which offers cultural and other events for young people, some even in English or other languages.
