Activities under the European Solidarity Corps contribute to the goals of the EU Youth Strategy for 2019–2027. This strategy encourages young people to become active citizens, advocates of solidarity, and drivers of positive change in communities across Europe, inspired by EU values and a shared European identity. The European Solidarity Corps also aligns with the objectives of the Horizon Europe program, addressing significant challenges faced by our societies, such as improving the lives of cancer patients, adapting to climate change, restoring our oceans and water resources, reviving soil health, and fostering climate-neutral, smart cities.
The European Solidarity Corps unites young people to build a more inclusive society, supporting vulnerable groups and responding to social and humanitarian challenges. It inspires young individuals who are eager to help, learn, and grow, boosting their self-esteem while serving as a central access point for solidarity actions throughout the EU and beyond.
Young people must have easy access to opportunities for solidarity, allowing them to express their commitment to their communities while gaining valuable experience and skills for their personal, educational, social, cultural, civic, and professional development—ultimately enhancing their employability.
Caritas of the Koszalin-Kołobrzeg Diocese has repeatedly served as a project beneficiary, enabling young Europeans to participate in Caritas initiatives that foster a sense of international community and universal care. Our goal is to promote compassion, selflessness, and responsibility while creating opportunities for personal growth through volunteer engagement.
Opportunities include: assisting at the Słupsk Charitable Care Center with holiday meal distribution (Christmas/Easter) and food aid logistics; supporting Single Mothers’ Homes through childcare, workshops (e.g., music, cooking); aiding Crisis Centers with educational/cultural activities; or joining Caritas Volunteer Center to organize local events, fundraisers, or ecological projects. Flexible roles range from hands-on help to creative project leadership.
